Cherish our freedom as Americans – and take care of each other too

Have we forgotten? We are all Americans. We are all in the same boat.

Frankly, I am tired. I’m tired of hearing what’s wrong with the other side and how righteous we are and how horrible they are. I find it hard to believe that other Americans are not like you and me. Don’t we all want the same at the end of the day?

I see division everywhere. It’s in our schools. It’s up to my job. I can’t help but see it everywhere as I walk to the grocery store and around my neighborhood. Just like when we run in our cars, COVID-19 has robbed us of our ability to relate to others. Just as we can be 10 times angrier with anyone while driving behind our safe space of steel and glass, COVID has disconnected us from each other.

We are left behind by our electronic devices. Now all that’s left is to watch the news, read our social media feeds, and talk to our teammates through Zoom. Of course, technology has helped us, but it has also kept us from seeing each other for the precious and beautiful people that we all are.

For me, the solution is simple.

We all want our freedom. The freedom to be able to do what’s best for us in the time we need to do it. It’s difficult, but we have to let people make their choices about what’s best for them.

I say it’s difficult, but isn’t that what you want: to be able to make your own choices in your life too? This goes for everything: whether they are getting a vaccine to protect themselves and loved ones from COVID-19 or whether they have the right to speak privately with their doctor about what is best for their reproductive needs. . They have the right to decide for themselves whether what they hear is factual or fictitious. If they want to believe in fiction, they have every right to believe what they believe.

We are left behind by our electronic devices. Now all that’s left is to watch the news, read our social media feeds, and talk to our teammates through Zoom. Of course, technology has helped us, but it has also kept us from seeing each other for the precious and beautiful people that we all are.

If we don’t want people to be snooked by fiction, why do we blame the people who are duped? Instead, let’s protect people from outrageous untruths or even outrageous payday loans. Why should people be constantly vigilant that what they hear or sign up for could be detrimental to their better mental, physical or financial health?

We need to build some trust that people can count on as real and factual. Read the book “The speed of trust. “Take it and read it again if it’s been a while.

And I guess I should back off. We obviously do not have the right to do everything. For example, we don’t have the right to spread an infectious disease all over our communities that kills people. So if you don’t want a vaccine that’s cool, but you’re going to have to do everything you can to avoid spreading an infectious disease so that those who are too weak, young or vulnerable are protected. Whether that means wearing a mask or doing one of the other things disease experts tell us to stop the spread based on the data they’ve collected, that’s what you need to do.

We are not allowed to drive vehicles while under the influence of drugs and run over others. We don’t have the right to kill. We do not have the right to abuse and neglect our family or our neighbors.

In America we have a lot of privileges, and one of them is voting. When you go to the polls this fall, leave with your head full of information to help you make the best choice. Don’t take your freedoms for granted. Democracy is not a given. It is fragile and could be gone in the blink of an eye if you let it.

Watch this video. Decide for yourself whether democracies are fragile. I know it’s a 20 minute video, but please watch it. Make your decision with information.

Take the time to work on solutions today rather than complaining about all the issues. When someone comes to you with a problem or complaint, say, “Sorry, for every problem you bring to me, I need two solutions”. You deserve to hear solutions.

The solutions are difficult. The problems are easy.

Work on solutions because our freedom is worth it. And for my part, I am delighted to have the freedom.
