The future belongs to the storytellers.

Samay, a 9-year-old boy living with his family in a remote village in India discovers films for the first time and is absolutely fascinated by the enchanting new film which celebrates the power of cinema “Last Film Show”.

Against his father’s wishes, he returns to the cinema day after day to see more films, and even befriends the projectionist who, in exchange for his lunch box, allows him to watch films for free. He quickly understands that stories become light, light becomes film and films become dreams.

Samay and his band of wild friends move heaven and earth to capture and project light to make a 35mm film projection. But little do they know they will soon be forced to make harrowing choices as an era approaches to annihilate everything they love in their 35mm dreams.

“Last Film Show” will screen at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theater from August 5-10. Sessions will be at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6; and 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday August 8, 9 and 10.
